one day down, five to go

Jared is currently in Utah looking for a job. We have never been apart this long before and it isn't really very fun. I don't know why it is that when your with someone you love you always take them for granted and you don't realize how much you depend on them until you're all alone :(

It really isn't as bad as I expected, thanks to American Idol for filling up most of my evenings (go little Archuleta) and the boys are actually keeping me good company.

So I've made it through day 1. Wish us luck and I hope to be seeing a lot of you (permanently) in a couple of months.

"Terrific" Twos

So I have been trying for what has it been..2 1/2 weeks to put Tanners birthday pictures up but for some reason my computer doesn't want to upload those pictures. Of course I can upload any other ones, but not the ones I want.

But it was a fun birthday for him, he actually had two. On the 7th (on his actual birthday) we went to Chucky Cheese for dinner. It was the first time to experience all the cheesey fun for all of us and we had a GREAT time. On the Saturday following, Tanner had a big party with all of his friends which involved a lot of cars, pinatas, and lots of sticky two year olds. It was probably the first time Tanner had so much attention and the first time Jackson did not have any attention. So all in all it was a fun week full of "firsts" and birthday fun.

I also have to add that for some reason a lady at church described it as the "terrific twos." Apparently my children are the only ones that seem to enjoy terrorizing the house and find it amuzing to watch me clean up five pounds of rice strewn across the house while dumping brand new cds out all over the computer room just to slide across them like a roller skating rink. People like that just make me feel so good.

Valentine Tag

My one and only...

What is his name? Jared Maughan Weaver aka weav

How long have you been married? 5 years this May

How old is he? Almost 30!

Who eats more? That's a tough one. I think I generally do, but he makes up for his lack of eating on nights and weekends.

Who said I love you first? Jared, it was on my porch when I lived in the house at Bridgerland in Logan.

Who is smarter? I wish I was and sometimes I even pretend I am, but lets face it, I spend 24 hours a day with a 3 and 2 year old while he goes to school every day.

Who does the laundry? I do! He will help fold when it's my turn to put the kids to bed but if it were up to him we would do laundry semi-annually. There's a funny story about him wearing an old nasty pair of jeans to church when we first met b/c he was out of clean clothes.

Who does the dishes? I do. Sometimes he puts his cereal bowl in the sink after breakfast...sometimes.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Depending on the room, I usually sleep next to the wall when applicable (that way I'm guaranteed some of the bed), or I sleep closest to the door (easy access to the potty). I tried switching sides with Jared to trick the kids but they still found me.

Who pays the bills? William D Ford Federal District LOAN Program.

Who mows the lawn? Some wierd guy with cut off sleeves and a big old snaggle beard.

Who cooks dinner? I do on the weekdays, Jared usually does on the weekends. And I have to say I cook so we don't go hungry. He cooks because it tastes good when he does it.

Who drives when you are together? Usually Jared, unless he's sleepy. Bad things happen when Jared drives when he's tired!

Who is more stubborn? Next question please, I'm not answering this one.

Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? I don't know, I've never seen it happen.

Whose parents do you see the most? Both, we have to make it even.

Who proposed? Jared did. He tricked me, but to make a long story short, it was all very romantic with a lot of roses and a lot of cute pictures of us together. He did it on Valentines day 2003 at the Logan Temple.

Who is more sensitive? Definately Jared.

Who has more friends? Jared. Sometimes he gets on my case about making more friends, but I think I enjoy being alone most of the time, one of my strange quirks I guess.

Who has more siblings? He does, but only three times as many. He is 4th of 9 and I am 3rd of 3.

Who wears the pants in the family? Definately Jared, no...Definately I do. No...Probably Jared, or maybe I do. It's hard to say.

Bring on the Spring!!

Sorry it's hard for me to blog very often when I'm outside soaking up the 75 degree weather (neener neener for all those who got 15 inches of snow yesterday).

We had a great super bowl party...Go Giants!! Most of the girls stayed in the kitchen with all the yummy food (we had the whole melting pot restaurant recreated in my kitchen..Michelle is always welcome at our house) while the kids ran around causing a muck and the boys couldn't unglue themsleves from the game. The highlight of the night was when Rus would squeal like a girl when he got excited about the game (which happened quite often toward the end). All in all it was a great party (sorry the Hales missed out-we missed you guys!)!

(I tried to get Madeline to pose 'cause she looked so cute in her cheerleading outfit but this is all I could get from her)

Here are some more cute pictures of our boys.

BTW-there probably is not a more white trash (no offense) place for our kids to be than right in front of those apartments in the first picture. The guy who owns the old Ford pick-up revs his engine every morning around 6:30 and it wakes up the whole world. Apparently someone put water in his gas tank (I swear it wasn't me, I would've put oil) but it didn't help. He still does it every day. GRRRRRRR.
