Moab

A couple of weeks ago Jamie said she was running the Canyonlands 1/2 marathon and invited me to try and get a bib and run with her. I didn't really have time to train but I figured I would try even if I didn't run very fast. I was a little nervous when I actually got a bib and payed the money but it turned out to be really fun. Jamie was nice enough to stay with me and keep me going. I felt pretty good up until about mile 9 then I started pooping out. At about mile 11 I really started to feel it and I started wondering if I was going to be able to run the rest of the way but I kept going. I'm usually pretty good at pushing pretty hard the last mile but this time I just got mentally tired and I couldn't seem to push myself anymore so Jamie went ahead and I slowed waaay down. Nevertheless we both finished and it was really fun.

Here's Jamie kicking my trash :)

Here's me trying desperately to get to the finish (and those darn headphones wouldn't stay in my ears!)

DING DING DING Goes the Trolley!

Jared and I finally made it to San Francisco. I've been trying to drag him there since we met b/c I think it's one of the most romantic places in the world and we both love big cities. So, when Jerrin and Sharidee told us they were going there for a weekend to see Wicked and they needed someone to watch their baby during the show I jumped on that opportunity as fast as I could. Plus we love to travel with Jer and Shar!!

We started the trip off first by visiting Coit tower since it was 2 seconds away from our hotel. It just happened to be a gorgeous day too!! No wind, no rain, no fog...just sunshine!

At the base of the tower were a bunch of Eucalyptus trees and one of the trees was filled with parrots. It was amazing. They were so colorful and really NOISY!

We walked from the tower over to North Beach for some lunch. Jared loved the steep hills!

Jer and Shar and homeless man taking a nap.

Shar and me at the base of the famous windy road that I can't think of the name of right this second.

Just some handsome guys we picked up...Those are Sharidee's steamy eyes...ha ha ha!!

Husband and brother trying to hook up baby to mommy.

One of my favorite things to do on fisherman's wharf is get a hot bowl of clam chowder and a crab sandwich. This time we decided we'd go out on a limb and try some oysters. I am the only one that has ever tried an oyster and I don't think I ever got around to swallowing it. I vaguely remember chewing, gagging, chewing, gagging, and then spitting the snotty slimeball out. So here we all are making a go for it.

We did it!! And with a lot of lemon and a little hot sauce they aren't half bad. They aren't half good either. I'd have to say 70% slimey 30% somewhat tolerable.

It wouldn't be San Francisco without a ferry. (Okay, so this is our boat to Alcatraz)

It also wouldn't be Jared if he didn't do this.

Alcatraz

Those cells were teeny!!

Getting ready for our trolley ride!

Jerrin and Sharidee left on Sunday and Jared and I stuck around for another day. We went to Beach Blanket Babylon (very funny) and then we headed out to a bed and breakfast in Napa Valley. The B&B was a little bit of a disappointment but they gave us 1/2 off our stay and another free night if we ever go back.

We headed over to Sonoma Valley (Which I like a little better) and it was beautiful. It rained on us but it just made it that much more lush!

When we got back into town the sun came out and we found a great view of San Fran from the other side of the bay. It was beautiful!!

And that concludes our trip....sniff sniff....at least we have a free night's stay at a mediocre B&B we need to get back to within the year :)

Happy Valentines Day

Grandma and Grandpa Weaver do music for a lot of Stake dances and other group dances so for Valentines we decided to join them for a night of music and dancing.

We were too busy getting our groove on for very many pictures, but here's our fam after we're all tuckered out from all the boogying.

Here's aunt Shanna and aunt Suzie with all the kiddos

Great party Weavers. You guys do a great job!

Happy Birthday Tanner

Tanner turned 3 this year. I still feel like he's my little baby. I find myself carrying him around everywhere and I have to remind myself he isn't a baby anymore...where has all the time gone?!?

We started the day off with some smiley face pancakes. Which for a lot of kids isn't anything great, but I rarely fix anything other than cereal for breakfast, so this is a big treat for the boys!

Tanner loves Handy Manny and I got a great deal after halloween on the costume and the day after thanksgiving sale for the doll.

Here's the birthday boy and Daddy at Chuck E Cheeses.

Grandma Chieko and Jackson

Grandpa Michael having some fun of his own.

Sharidee and Jerrin and fam also joined us but I somehow didn't get any pictures of them. Thanks for joining us and making Tanner's b-day party AWESOME! And thanks Grandma and Grandpa Astle for grinning and bearing it through all the noise and sticky kids :)

Discovery Gateway

I decided to get an annual pass at the Gateway since paying for the family to go one time covered half the cost, it seemed worth it.

Jackson is very proud to be able to climb to the top of the wall. He's getting sooo big and independant!!

Tanner's favorite place to play is the water. He loves to gather as many balls as possible...even if it is out of a ten year old's hand and it leaves the ten year old crying. I don't know where this kid comes from sometimes.

This is Jared's favorite place to hang out. He is mesmerized by the magnets. I'm glad all the boys are able to find some fun!

Superbowl 2009

I am not the biggest fan of football but I do love a party with fun people, food, and funny commercials. We spent the superbowl with Jared's family at Jerrin and Sharidee's house this year.

Here's Jared rubbing my lovely feet (that's one more perk I forgot to mention about watching football w/ Jared)
