First day of Kindergarten!!

Jackson started kindergarten a few weeks ago (year round school here) and he LOVES it!

Tanner wanted to be part of the excitement too.

Here he is lining up after the bell rang waiting for teacher to come get his class.

First day of school DONE. He was very excited because he was soo good and had no time outs! He says he doesn't ever want to get in trouble while he's in kindergarten. So far so good :)

Just a random picture of da boys after "family night" at chick-fil-a. Every Wed. they have free kids meals and a face painter and balloons. I've found we spend waaaay too much time at chick-fil-a these days since it's only 2 minutes from our house and their chicken is soooo tastey!!

We love you very much Jackson and we have so much fun watching you grow up everyday!!

HAWAII

This may be out of order but I figure for those who wanna see pics of Hawaii but don't want to have to go through my mass of blogs I'm doing these last. We actually went to Hawaii right before Jackson's birthday (and right after I found out I was prego-not exactly how we wanted it to work out but who's complaining-it's HAWAII!!!!).

The first day we flew in we were a little disappointed by the city of Honolulu. We thought it was a little dirty and not much different than L.A. or any other big city. So the first thing we did was drive up north and that's where we found paradise!! We stopped at the Dole plantation first then found a great little beach to watch the sunset. We saw a whole bunch of huge turtles and of course NO pictures 'cause we were busy getting to know HAWAII!!

After Jamie told us we HAD to go to Hanauma Bay that was a first major stop. Jared snorkeled ALL day and I did a little snorkeling and a LOT of napping on the beautiful beach!

The first time I got Lei'd on the beach at Waikiki :)

Sunday we went to church in Honolulu. This tree was just outside and Jared thought it was sooo amazing. He couldn't get enough of it. This is one of the reasons that makes traveling with Jared so fun. He always gets sooo excited about the smallest things. I really love it!!

After church I was feeling pretty yucky so we crashed at the hotel for a while and took a looong nap. After we woke up we took it easy and went to the Japanese gardens. The ride there was awesome. The mountains and cliffs are nothing like anything we've seen before!!

This is the gong thing that has some significance but I don't remember it. It was fun to hit the gong though.

There were some pretty cool birds and other animals roaming around the gardens.

A quick stop at the Honolulu temple. It was under serious construction.

We went to the Polynesian Cultural Center our last day in Oahu. It was probably the highlight of our stop there (although Hanauma Bay was pretty great!). Jared showing off his stick spear skills.

Jared won a hat for hitting a stick on target. It's actually a really cool handmade hat. All the locals thought he was pretty cool for having it.

These Tahitian girls are amazing. I've never seen anything like them!

Having some fun at the PCC

Our dinner being carried in.

Our first Luau. This time both of us got Lei'd :)

Jared's a little trickster.

The morning before our flight to Kauai I felt bad because we didn't get to do as much as we anticipated 'cause I wasn't feeling too well so we got up early and booked it up Diamond Head. I'm not kidding when I say we booked it, we were hauling up that steep old mountain so we could make our flight on time.

It was a nice view. And I always love a hike even if I feel like yuck and we have to haul our tushies. It always feels good to climb up a mountain and look down!

The view.

Kauai!!!! Ohhhhh how much we LOVE Kauai!! I'm sooo happy people told us to make a stop there. It was sooo beautiful and laid back. We will definitely be going back there!

We went hiking to some smallish waterfalls. The hike was a little creepy because NOBODY was around and I felt like I was in the middle of Lost. BUT it was gorgeous and we found a sweet car. I didn't want to look too closely just in case the driver never made it out.

We did a little kayaking excursion where we kayaked up a river to some gardens then over to a hike that took us to an amazing waterfall that we got to swim in. This was my FAVORITE part of Kauai! It was a great little hike and swimming under a waterfall is really fun.

This was supposedly the best beach for snorkeling but we found another great little beach farther up north. It was fun to see all the seals and turtles just sunbathing on the beach.

Just a nice pic of all the greenery.

This was the beach with the BEST snorkeling (according to Jared). He stayed out there forever and had a great time. I just sat on the beach and took in how beautiful it was!

We also got to watch the sunset on this beach. I don't think that's me and Jared but it looks romantic doesn't it?

Our last day in Hawaii :(

I think Jared took it even harder than I did that we had to leave :(

We were definitely sad to leave!! It was a great trip (next time we'll have to do it when I am feeling less pregnant!!!!) and we WILL be going back someday....

Jackson Hole 2009

This year I went back and forth between going and not going to Jackson Hole since I've been feeling pretty yucky w/ this pregnancy. Driving and camping didn't seem like something that would go well with the nausea, but after my dad came early Friday morning to get Jackson and we were all awake, I started feeling a little left out and I hated that Jamie and Brian were still withing visiting distance. So Jared was really nice and started packing things up and after we bought a tent and some sleeping bags we headed up to Wyoming and I'm REALLY glad we did!!

We tricked Jamie and Brian into switching us Emi for Jackson and that was the BEST trick we ever played on them. HA HA HA. Actually sorry Jackson was sooo obnoxious! But Emi and Tanner were two peas in a pod the whole time they were together!

We all carpooled into Yellowstone and it was really nice because we got to have Grandpa in our car. It was fun to be able to talk to him and hear his stories and memories. I'm sure it was hard on him to go back to Jackson for the first time without Grandma but we sure loved having him there.

You can see how inseparable these two were (Emi and Tanner)

Nothing like driving 5 hours to get a nice whiff of the hot pots!

Cousins and more cousins...

Jamie and Brian came and visited a couple of weeks ago and we got to have them stay with us for part of their stay. Normally we LOVE having them here but this time Jackson got sick early in their stay and it started to spread quickly. I was soo worried 'cause Jamie was running the wasatch back and I was sure she was going to catch the bug right before her race but all went well with her and it was nice having her around while I was stuck in the house for a week (which I'm sure she didn't love!!).

We had a cousin day where Jennifer, Tiffany, Heather, Jamie, me, and all our kids went up to Silver Lake and walked around and had a picnic lunch. After we headed back to Jennifer's for some water fun in her backyard. (I didn't get many pics of that so refer to any of their blogs for that).

Tiffany's fam, Jamie's fam and we also went up to the canyons for tinfoil dinners and smores. (I think this is with them anyway. we've gone up in the canyons A LOT this summer and I didn't get any other pictures than of my Jared-isn't he a catch?)

This is the product of a lot of dirt, smoke, gooey marshmallows, and a cute little kid.

T-ball

Jackson played in T-ball this year and it was really fun for him and for us. He actually was really into it and he tried really hard to go after the balls and loved batting. This is a small change from playing soccer a couple years ago. He also had Parker and Stanton (his "cousins"-they're actually my cousins kids) on his team and it was fun to see everyone play.

Jackson in action

Good job Jacks!

Jackson's Birthday

Jackson turned 5 this year and he's SOOO excited because that means he gets to go to kindergarten. The day started off with some smiley face pancakes.

Off to preschool graduation

His teacher Miss Gaylene

A Ben 10 birthday party with his friends from primary class and his cousin Spencer. His other cousins (spencer's brothers, helped with the party which ended up being great since a house full of 5 year old boys are a bit hard to handle!)

Happy Birthday Jackson!! We love you!!!!!!!

Sorry if this is getting old...

This all happened a few hours after Mom found Jackson and his neighbor friend chucking trash over the fence after they knocked the garbage can over and went on to transporting water from the bathroom sink the the carpet...
Jackson: "Mom! Tanner put glue on himself"
Mom walks in to find Tanner COVERED in glue
Mom: "Tanner!!! NO!!"
Mom puts Tanner in the bathtub while yelling loudly
Tanner: "waaaaaah"

A few minutes later-
Jackson: "We would like you to say sorry"
Mom: "You want me to say sorry?!?"
Jackson: "Yes, for yelling at Tanner"
Mom looks at Tanner with fire shooting from her eyes
Mom: "Tanner, who was naughty?"
Tanner points to himself
Mom: "Who had to clean up the big huge mess?"
Tanner points to mom
Mom: "Who needs to say sorry?"
Tanner points to himself
Mom: "That's right."
Tanner: "But you are mad at me."
Mom: "Yep."
Tanner: "But you are still angry."
Mom: "Yep."
Tanner: "But I like your hair, it's really pretty."
Mom accepts that as an apology and isn't quite so angry anymore.
